Professor Dr. Youssef Abdelaziz Al-Hassanine

A distinguished expert in Nutrition and Food Sciences, having held numerous prestigious academic positions at Menoufia University. These include serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Home Economics (2009-2015), Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research (2007-2009), and Head of the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences (2015-2021). He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences (Biochemistry) from Mansoura University, in collaboration with the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, USA (1997), through research on fish contamination by pesticides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. He also completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Plymouth, UK (2003-2004), focusing on organic pollutants in aquatic environments. His scientific interest centers on emerging environmental and food pollutants, encompassing monitoring, analysis, biotransformation, and remediation. He has participated in various scientific activities, including international training courses in environmental and food pollutants management, serving as an international consultant for environmental feasibility studies, and contributing to 13 international and regional research projects. Additionally, he has reviewed over 705 scientific papers and published 210 papers in reputable journals. He has also organized and delivered lectures and workshops at more than 140 scientific conferences, in addition to supervising 717 Master’s and Ph.D. theses. He actively contributes to the development of scientific research and project management related to environmental and food pollutants.
