Dr. Abdullah Al-Najjar, Chairman of the Board of the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF), has announced the appointment of Dr. Mona Amer<\/strong> as Secretary-General of the \u201cHope for the Future\u201d Initiative<\/strong>.<\/p>

A Humanitarian and Educational Vision<\/strong><\/h3>

\u201cHope for the Future\u201d is a humanitarian and educational initiative launched by ASTF on December 15, 2024<\/strong>, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States<\/strong>. The initiative aims to empower students from countries affected by wars, conflicts, and natural disasters to continue their education and rebuild their communities.<\/p>

The initiative is implemented in strategic partnership<\/strong> with the Association of Arab Universities<\/strong>, Stardom University (Turkey)<\/strong>, the Arab Council for Scientific Research<\/strong>, and in cooperation with the American University of Sharjah<\/strong>, the European Universities in Egypt<\/strong>, and Czech Global University<\/strong>.<\/p>

About Dr. Mona Amer<\/strong><\/h3>

Dr. Amer holds a Ph.D. in Civil Law and International Arbitration<\/strong> from Egypt and brings over 30 years of legal experience<\/strong> across the Gulf region and Egypt. She is the author of several legal publications and has been honored by universities and institutions across the Arab world for her contributions to academia and law.<\/p>

Upon her appointment, Dr. Mona Amer<\/strong> said:<\/p>

\u201cEducation is a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of building individuals and nations. It plays a vital role in improving the quality of life for communities. Through \u2018Hope for the Future,\u2019 we aim to safeguard the right of future generations\u2014especially those in crisis and conflict zones\u2014to complete their education, support their communities, and contribute to rebuilding and development.\u201d<\/p>

A Commitment to Empowerment and Sustainability<\/strong><\/h3>

The Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF)<\/strong>, headquartered in Sharjah, UAE<\/strong>, was founded in 2000<\/strong> under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi<\/strong>, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Today, ASTF is the largest Arab scientific network, bringing together more than 50,000 scientists and innovators<\/strong> in various fields of science and technology from across the Arab world and beyond.<\/p>

Dr. Abdullah Al-Najjar emphasized that this appointment comes as part of ASTF\u2019s ongoing efforts to develop its initiatives and networks while strengthening the role of Arab women in leadership positions<\/strong>, in line with its mission to promote sustainable development<\/strong>, and empower youth and women<\/strong> across the Arab region.<\/p>
