Dr. Ghada M. Amer, Vice president of ASTF, said that, 5th June is the registration closing date for the 8th Arab Technology business plan competition, instead of 15th May, after receiving many requests from Arab entrepreneurs to extend the registration period. She refers that about 76 teams joined the competition, which aims to spread the culture of business entrepreneurs and self-employment among the Arab youth. The Arab entrepreneurs in the different technology fields in the Arab region, who own startup outstanding valuable ideas that able to create a lot of job opportunities and present many technological solutions to develop some products that already exist in the market, or to present new product with competing price and high quality were called to participated in the competition. The Arab youth can go to the competition’s website to register: www.tbpc.astf.net . Dr. Ghada call the Arab youth, and especially those in the north Africa to participated in the competition, as for the first time the website site is available with two language: Arabic & English. The Arab science and Technology Foundation (ASTF) stated its commitment to support the entrepreneur, as the invention consider the mainstay of the future and the economic development, and the communities who neglected the innovation will suffer from a lot of problems and obstacles. About 16 Arab countries participated in the 8th Arab technology business plan competition, in additional to 6 foreign countries, they are: Egypt, KSA, Jordon, Syria, Tunisia, Palestine, Algeria, Yemen, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, Qatar, Sudan, Oman, Kuwait, and Arab teams from United kingdom, Malaysia, German, United states, France, and India. All the participation requests will be revise before the announcement of the teams’ name who fulfill the conditions, so that the winning teams’ projects’ will be present to the judge committee to be evaluate and choose the projects that wining in the first stage, before participation in the electronic training. It was mentioned that the Arab Science and Technology Foundation will present financial rewards for the winners in the 8th Arab Technology Business plan competition, as the following: In additional to participation in the annual forum for investing in technology that will organize by the Foundation, with participation of the representatives of venture and risk capital, and the researchers for innovative ideas and startup companies, that needed to pump investment through it. |
